got egg?

On middle of August, we had the largest egg recall in U.S. history. They requested more than 228 million of eggs to be recalled because of the Salmonella. I also have returned a pack of 18 eggs, which was main ingredients of my breakfast.

Since this largest egg recall was on going while I was actually eatting them, I became doubtful about FDA’s action about it. Until now I had strong belief about FDA or any other departments that inspects all agriculture products. So I looked for these kind of informations on internet and I could find ironic article about the confusing separation of powers between the FDA and the USDA. According to that article, FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and USDA (U. S. Department of Agriculture) are dividing their jurisdictions or regulations as what it called. They are seperating their jurisdictions on certain items, but the result is not really understandable. An open-faced turkey sandwich falls under the purview of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, but one with two slices of bread is under the jurisdiction of the FDA. This only makes great opportunities to pass quietly through the huge breaks in between those seperated jurisdictions. That was the biggest reason for this unbelievable amount of eggs had to be recalled.

Now people are asking lawmakers that food safety legislation should be regulated upon efficiency throughout all kinds of foods, so we can trust them. Yet these acts has not been passed through to the White House, which I can’t understand either. All kinds of acts fulfills their own goods passes directly to be authorized, but any other requests, especially for public goods takes too much time to be passed. This is about health of citizens and that includes everyone, no exceptions. This should be solved as soon as possible.
